Invitation The Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba has the pleasure of inviting you to join this Cuban nautical institution to make come true the dreams and illusions of Cubans, sea lovers, sports and nautical recreation people of transforming this archipelago into a paradise of recreational boating activities.

After 32 years without the existence of Yacht clubs in Cuba, Mr. José Miguel Díaz Escrich, retired from the Cuban Navy, had the bright idea of founding the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba (CNIH of Cuba) on May 21st, 1992, with the objective of providing the connection between those interested in water sports activities, sports, recreational and social events as well as friendly and nonprofit competitions.

Another vital foundation on which is based the existence of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba is the development of friendly and cooperation relations with the International Boating Community. These friendly ties extend to hundreds of yacht clubs, associations, institutions and personalities of that community. Currently, the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba represents numerous cruising and fishing associations of Argentina, Germany, Austria, Italy, the United States of America, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, New Zealand, Portugal and France.

In addition, the HIYC of Cuba is member, among others, of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, from the United States; The Billfish Foundation, the ICOMIA Marinas Group, the International Game Fish Association, the International Federation of Leagues and Navy Leagues, the Associated Clubs of the Yacht Club of France which brings together prestigious yacht clubs as the Monaco YC, the Royal Thames YC, the Royal London YC, the Italian YC, the Argentinean YC, the Real Club Nautico de Barcelona, the Royal Hong Kong YC, the Quebec YC, the Royal Bombay YC, etc.

The HIYC of Cuba has broken the isolation Cuba had with the international boating community and it is very happy that this community has accepted it as its representative in Cuba, giving it the opportunity of assisting with navigating information on the Cuban archipelago and coordinate, with the Coast Guard and Marinas, the cruises that the members of the sailing community want to make in the more than 3,000 islands and cays of the Cuban sea. Also, the HIYC of Cuba is very happy to provide assistance to those who arrive by air and invites them all to visit its seat in Hemingway Marina.

The more than 2320 members of the HIYC of Cuba from 63 countries can use the facilities of the HIYC of Cuba to celebrate parties, social events and business meetings. They also have nautical facilities at their disposal for the enjoyment and learning of sport fishing, dinghy and cruising sailing, water skiing and jet skiing.
